“Our family has grown and the old rooms just didn’t fit us all comfortably anymore. Our options were to find a new home or reconfigure the rooms in our current house so we could be more comfortable and enjoy being together.

We decided to remodel and then the planning began…We needed to take down existing walls, that were weight bearing, add new lighting and fixtures, redo the fireplace that didn’t have any character or charm and add other touches that gave our home a newer look.

Tom Metzdorf had the chore of how to replace a weight bearing wall without adding a beam since our ceilings aren’t high. He sunk the 12 inch beam INTO the attic, opened up two rooms to give us one large great room and converted a never used formal living room into a grand and specious dining room. He also had to tie the new room into an existing kitchen and it looks like it has always been a part of the house plan…not a bunch of remodel add-ons!

Tom’s vision for the completed rooms was absolutely beautiful and every design idea he had he delivered on. He had a plan that was timely, with each day defined and his follow through was excellent!

The end result was a new great room and dining room that fits our family and is beautiful. Each day Tom left the construction areas cleans of materials and debris and he did everything to keep my distractions to a minimum. In the end Tom Metzdorf completed our project ON TIME and ON Budget…a total of six weeks as promised and without cost overruns!!
